A lemon tart made for sharing
A French tarte au citron: tangy lemon curd in a buttery shortcrust shell. No meringue, no decoration except a dusting of icing sugar at the cut.
How it’s finished
The tart is finished plainly, as a lemon tart should be, with a smooth, pale curd surface in a golden pastry shell, with no decoration beyond a dusting of icing sugar at the cut.
Handmade in Port Melbourne
Each Lemon Tart is made in-house at Melbourne Bakehouse on Bay Street in Port Melbourne. It is a good fit for family lunches, afternoon tea and shared dessert tables where you want a whole tart ready to serve.
Choosing your tart size
| Size | Best for |
|---|---|
| 7-inch | Serves around 8-10 people. Best for smaller celebrations, afternoon tea or a thoughtful dessert for a smaller table. |
| 9-inch | Serves around 12-14 people. Best for birthdays, family lunches or office celebrations where dessert is part of the occasion. |
| 11-inch | Serves around 16-18 people. Best for larger birthdays, office celebrations or shared dessert tables where you need more generous portions. |
You can also add a message plaque for a birthday, thank you, anniversary or custom message.
How to serve Lemon Tart
Serve cold, dusted with icing sugar at the cut. A spoonful of crème fraîche, mascarpone or thick cream balances the citrus.
