About Americano

An Americano softens espresso into a longer cup by adding hot water after the shot. It is lighter than a straight espresso and less crema-focused than a Long Black, which makes it a simple everyday black coffee.

At Melbourne Bakehouse

Made to order at Melbourne Bakehouse in Port Melbourne using Grinders coffee, a Melbourne roaster with roots in a single city storefront and a roastery that remains in Melbourne.

Availability can vary through the day; ordering ahead is recommended for larger quantities.

How to enjoy Americano

Best served hot and black, with milk on the side if you prefer to soften the cup.

What is Americano?

A double shot of espresso with hot water added on top, weakening the espresso to a long-cup strength. Different from a Long Black: the Americano pours water over the espresso (breaking the crema), the Long Black pours espresso into water (preserving it). Both are valid, neither is wrong.

How should I order Americano?

Add it to cart or ask our team in store if you need help choosing.

Can I customise it?

Customisation depends on the item. Ask our team if you need a special order or dietary guidance.

Where can I find allergen details?

Ask our team for current allergen details. Cross-contact can occur because our kitchen handles gluten, dairy, eggs, soy, nuts and sesame.
